A complete RFQ reduces cross-reference errors, repeated email and delays in technical review.

Technical guide Updated 2026-07-16 For identification and RFQ preparation

Product identification

  • Complete bearing model, brand and every suffix
  • Machine maker reference or previous supplier reference
  • Clear photos of the marking, mounting and running surface
  • Required new part, equivalent replacement or drawing-based custom part

Dimensions and technical documents

Attach a controlled drawing when available. Otherwise provide the main envelope dimensions and all mounting interfaces. State the measurement units and identify which values are measured from a used part. For custom rollers, mark critical tolerances, surface finish, profile geometry and datum references.

Operating conditions

  • Radial, axial and moment load where applicable
  • Normal and maximum speed
  • Continuous or intermittent duty cycle
  • Shock, vibration and misalignment
  • Operating and ambient temperature
  • Dust, water, scale, coolant or corrosive exposure
  • Oil or grease lubrication and relubrication interval

Quantity and supply plan

State the trial quantity, order quantity and estimated annual demand separately. A one-off maintenance replacement may require a different supply route from a recurring OEM program. Include the target delivery date and whether partial shipment is acceptable.

Quality and documentation

Specify the documents actually required for the order, such as dimensional inspection, material documentation, hardness results, certificate of conformity, marking photos or packing photos. Avoid requesting broad certification language without identifying the applicable product, manufacturing facility and inspection scope.

Commercial and logistics information

  • Delivery city, postal code and country
  • Preferred Incoterm if already determined
  • Courier, air, sea or consolidated shipment preference
  • Individual corrosion protection, labels and outer packing requirements
  • Currency and payment requirements

Questions to ask the supplier

  • Which drawing or specification will control production and inspection?
  • Is the proposed item standard, modified standard or fully custom?
  • Which dimensions and suffix features have been confirmed?
  • Are tooling, samples or first-article inspection required?
  • What is the quoted production lead time and what can change it?
  • How will nonconforming or transit-damaged goods be handled?

Use our bearing inquiry form to submit the model, drawing, quantity and destination in one request. For overseas orders, also review export shipping and Incoterms.

Technical note: This guide supports preliminary sourcing. Confirm the controlled drawing, tolerances, load capacity and application requirements before ordering or installation.
